How to whiten your skin

This guide will go through how to whiten skin. Many people are concerned about skin damage caused by excessive exposure to sunlight and there others who want to recapture their original skin tone. Here are the ways and means of whitening your skin.

Skin whitening

Skin whitening is a procedure in which the darker skin is made to look lighter. Though there are several techniques in whitening the skin, it is essentially done through the process of exfoliation i.e. getting rid of dead skin at the outermost layer of the skin and unveiling a new layer.

Skin bleaching

Skin bleaching is the procedure that makes your skin light colored. Light colored skin is preferred all over the world especially in India, Africa and Latin America. Light colored skin is considered as royal and prestigious trait among certain groups of people.

Skin bleaching is much, much more popular with women. They invest a lot of money on bleaching products. In many parts of the world the girls are advised to avoid sunlight to remain light colored.

Most of the skin bleaching agents contains hydroquinone that prevents the formation of melanin.

Chemical peel

Possibly the most effective way of rejuvenating your skin is through a doctor/dermatologist administered chemical peel. They use the bleaching product such as hydroquinone but with greater strength thus providing better results more quickly than would be the case with a whitening cream.

Disadvantages of a chemical peel

  • Significant cost
  • The face will likely have a reddish color for a period of up to two weeks following the peel
  • May need more than one peel to have the desired results
  • Can significantly lighten the skin almost overnight thus being very obvious

Skin bleaching cream

There are so many skin-bleaching creams available and vying with one another to capture the attention of the buyers. Most of the skin bleaching creams contains hydroquinone up to 4% level.

Hydroquinone works wonders by inhibiting the enzyme called tyrisinase that is important for the formation of melanin pigment. More the concentration of the pigment melanin darker will be the skin.

The creams will also contain ingredients that will keep the skin moist. There will also be some ingredients that prevent the irritation to the skin. The cost of the skin bleaching creams hovers around 50-60 USA dollars for one oz

Skin whitening cream

You have wide variety of skin whitening creams to choose from. These whitening creams come in different quantity and different attractive packing. The cost in general will be nearly 60 American dollars per ounce.

Skin whitening creams can be used both by men and women. These creams will never irritate your skin. These skin whitening creams don't dry your skin too much.

Skin whitening creams clear the dark circles around the eyes very effectively and quickly. These creams protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation and reduce the formation of melanin pigmentation.
